Comparison
TrustBill vs Wafeq for UAE E-Invoicing
Wafeq is a UAE-born cloud accounting product with a growing SME user base and an ASP listing on the Ministry of Finance register. This page shows where Wafeq stops being enough on its own and how TrustBill fits alongside it β not as a Wafeq replacement.
Two products, overlapping surface β different centres of gravity
Wafeq is primarily an accounting platform. TrustBill is primarily a compliance and submission layer. There is a small overlap where both products can generate a PINT-AE invoice, but the day-to-day job of each is different: Wafeq lives inside a finance team's ledger; TrustBill lives on the wire between that ledger and the FTA.
You don't replace Wafeq with TrustBill. You keep Wafeq for chart of accounts, expense tracking, VAT 201 preparation and the accounting close, and you use TrustBill for high-volume PINT-AE submission, bilingual invoice rendering, free-zone flag automation, and β if you're an accounting firm β a multi-tenant portal that lets one login manage many client TRNs.
This is important because Wafeq's ASP listing helps Wafeq-native invoices comply, but many UAE SMEs run mixed stacks β Wafeq for accounts, plus Excel exports, Tally exports, a desktop POS, or a bank feed. TrustBill's watch-folder agent, Excel/CSV bulk upload, and 20+ ERP connectors are what those mixed stacks need to hit the mandate.

When to use each β TrustBill
- You run Wafeq for the books AND generate invoices from other sources (Tally exports, Excel, POS, bank feeds) that also need to submit
- You're an accounting or tax consultancy managing many SME clients and want one portal instead of one Wafeq login per client
- You need a permanent free tier (50 invoices/month, no card) for smaller entities
- You need a desktop watch-folder agent for QuickBooks Desktop or Tally.ERP 9 users
- You need bulk Excel/CSV validation-and-submission at scale
When to use each β Wafeq
- You are choosing your first UAE accounting platform and want Arabic-first bookkeeping, VAT, and close
- Your entire invoice flow lives inside Wafeq end to end (no Excel, no Tally, no external POS)
- You want a single subscription that covers both accounting and PINT-AE submission for one entity
- You don't need a multi-tenant consultancy portal or bulk Excel/CSV submission
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Wafeq and TrustBill together?+
Yes β that's the most common pattern. Keep Wafeq for accounting, VAT and the close, and use TrustBill as the compliance layer that reads invoice data (from Wafeq exports, Excel, Tally, QuickBooks or any of 20+ integrations), transforms it to PINT-AE, and submits through our accredited ASP path. The FTA acknowledgement UUID is stored on both sides for a clean audit trail.
Is Wafeq listed on the MoF ASP register?+
Wafeq has appeared on the UAE Ministry of Finance's ASP-related listing. Always verify the current status directly at mof.gov.ae before making a compliance decision β the register is updated as accreditations are granted, renewed or removed.
Do I have to migrate my accounting to TrustBill?+
No. TrustBill is not an accounting platform. It does not replace your chart of accounts, expense tracking or VAT preparation. It reads invoice data from Wafeq (and any other system you use), submits compliant PINT-AE XML through an accredited ASP, and writes the FTA response back for your audit trail. Your books stay in Wafeq.
Is TrustBill more expensive than Wafeq?+
They price different things. TrustBill starts at zero for 50 invoices/month (compliance layer); Wafeq is a monthly accounting subscription. Most UAE Wafeq users on TrustBill's free tier pay nothing extra to add compliance coverage across their non-Wafeq invoice sources.
Why would a Wafeq-only shop still use TrustBill?+
Two common reasons: (1) they have invoice sources outside Wafeq β Excel bulk, POS, Tally exports, bank feeds β that also need to hit the mandate; (2) they are an accounting firm managing many client TRNs and want one portal instead of one Wafeq login per client. TrustBill's multi-tenant consultancy layer solves both.
