Comparison
TrustBill vs QuickBooks for UAE E-Invoicing
QuickBooks β Online and Desktop β is a familiar accounting platform for UAE SMEs. It is not, on its own, an Accredited Service Provider for the FTA e-invoicing mandate. This page compares what each product does for the 2027 rollout and shows exactly where TrustBill fills the gap.
Two products, different jobs
QuickBooks is an accounting system. TrustBill is a compliance layer that turns whatever your accounting system produces into a signed, mandate-compliant PINT-AE XML invoice and submits it through an Accredited Service Provider on the Peppol network.
You don't replace QuickBooks with TrustBill. QuickBooks Online connects via OAuth and streams invoices to TrustBill as they're issued; QuickBooks Desktop drops exports into a watched folder for the TrustBill Windows / macOS agent. Either way, your accountants keep working exactly the same way inside QuickBooks.
This is important because the 2026β2027 mandate is not satisfied by generating a QuickBooks invoice, or by emailing a PDF, or by uploading to a portal. Submission must go through an accredited ASP. As of the current release, Intuit (QuickBooks' publisher) does not appear on the UAE Ministry of Finance's public ASP register.

Frequently asked questions
Can I keep QuickBooks Online and use TrustBill for the FTA mandate?+
Yes β that's the recommended pattern. QuickBooks Online stays your accounting system; TrustBill connects via QBO's OAuth API, pulls invoices as they're issued, transforms them to PINT-AE XML, and submits through our accredited ASP. The FTA acknowledgement UUID is written back to the QBO invoice as a memo for your audit trail.
What about QuickBooks Desktop β I'm not on the cloud version?+
Also supported. Our Windows / macOS agent watches a folder for QuickBooks Desktop invoice exports (IIF, XML, or Excel), validates each against the 51 mandatory PINT-AE fields, and submits through our accredited ASP. No cloud migration required.
Does Intuit have its own accredited service provider status in the UAE?+
As of the current release, Intuit (QuickBooks' publisher) does not appear on the UAE Ministry of Finance's public ASP register. Verify at mof.gov.ae before relying on QuickBooks alone for mandate submission.
Does QuickBooks handle Arabic + RTL correctly on printed invoices?+
QuickBooks Online supports Arabic language but RTL correctness on printed invoice templates varies by template. Many UAE trades require RTL-first layouts with mirrored line items and VAT category labels β TrustBill's invoice renderer is RTL-first by default and meets the FTA's bilingual rendering requirements.
Is TrustBill more expensive than QuickBooks?+
They are different products with different pricing models. TrustBill starts at zero for 50 invoices/month (compliance layer); QuickBooks starts around USD 20β35/month depending on tier (accounting platform). Most UAE QuickBooks shops will pay for both β QBO/QBD for the books, TrustBill for the mandate.
