FTA Approved ASP: How to Verify & Appoint One (UAE)

Searching for an FTA approved ASP for e-invoicing in the UAE? How to verify a provider's accreditation, appoint one on EmaraTax, and the red flags to avoid.

Businesses across the UAE are now searching for an FTA approved ASP for e-invoicing — and the results they find mix three different things: genuinely accredited providers, software vendors who are "ready", and resellers who claim accreditation through partners they may or may not actually have.

The difference matters more than any other decision in your e-invoicing project. An unapproved provider means your invoices are not compliant, full stop. Here is how to verify a provider, how appointment works, and the traps to avoid.

What "FTA approved" actually means

An Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is a company approved by the Ministry of Finance to connect businesses to the UAE e-invoicing network — the Peppol five-corner model running the PINT-AE invoice format.

Two labels get confused:

  • Pre-approved — the MoF published a list of 41 providers who met the initial readiness bar. Pre-approval is a milestone on the road to accreditation, not the finish line.
  • Accredited — the full approval: the provider operates a live Peppol Access Point and can carry real invoice traffic for in-scope businesses.

When someone sells you an "FTA approved e-invoicing solution", the question to ask is: which accredited ASP carries the invoice, and can I see that accreditation? For the full provider list and the pre-approved vs accredited breakdown, see our accredited ASP partners page and the 2026 accredited provider list.

How to verify a provider — 4 checks

  1. The MoF list — the provider's legal entity name (not just its brand) appears on the Ministry of Finance published list. Names change, entities merge — check the entity, not the logo.
  2. The network check — a real ASP operates a Peppol Access Point for PINT-AE. Ask for their Access Point identifier or a sandbox connection test.
  3. EmaraTax visibility — accredited providers appear selectable in the e-invoicing appointment flow on EmaraTax. If you can't appoint them there, they aren't the accredited party.
  4. Contractual clarity — the contract should name the accredited entity. "We use an accredited partner" without naming them is a red flag — you carry the compliance risk, not the salesperson.

How to appoint your ASP on EmaraTax

Appointment is a formal step on the FTA portal — buying software is not the same as appointing a provider:

  1. Log into EmaraTax with your business account.
  2. Open the e-invoicing service enrolment for your entity.
  3. Select your accredited provider from the published provider list.
  4. Submit and keep the confirmation — your ASP deadline is measured against this appointment, not your software go-live.

Deadlines: Phase 1 (revenue ≥ AED 50m) had to appoint by 30 October 2026 — that date has passed, so Phase 1 businesses still unappointed should treat this as urgent. Phase 2 (revenue < AED 50m) must appoint by 31 March 2027. Government entities (Phase 3) share the 31 March 2027 appointment deadline and go live on 1 October 2027.

Red flags when a vendor claims accreditation

  • "We're e-invoicing ready" — readiness is not accreditation.
  • "We're Peppol certified" — Peppol certification and FTA accreditation are different approvals; you need the UAE one.
  • "Our partner is accredited" — fine, if they name the partner and your invoices genuinely flow through that partner's Access Point. Ask for the entity name and check the list.
  • No EmaraTax appointment possible for them — the cleanest tell.

Do you need a separate ASP contract at all?

Two architectures exist:

  • Standalone ASP — you contract an accredited provider (Microvista and others on the official list) and connect your own invoicing system. Right for enterprises with an established ERP team.
  • Bundled platform — software like TrustBill generates your invoices and submits through an accredited provider as part of the plan. TrustBill submits via Microvista Technologies — an FTA-accredited service provider — so there is no separate ASP contract, no accreditation paperwork, and no per-submission negotiation. See pricing for how the tiers compare.

If you're still weighing architectures, ASP vs e-invoicing software breaks down which fits which business, and how to choose an FTA-accredited provider covers the full evaluation checklist.

The takeaway

"FTA approved" is a verifiable status, not a marketing phrase. Check the MoF list, confirm the entity in EmaraTax, appoint before your phase deadline — and keep the appointment confirmation. Everything else is detail.
